Notre Dame Global Adaptation IndexAn initiative by Notre Dame University to classify countries based on their vulnerability to and level of readiness for the impacts of climate change
United Nations Framework Convention on Climate ChangeAn international environmental treaty negotiated at the United Nations Conference on Environment and Development (UNCED), informally known as the Earth Summit, held in Rio de Janeiro in 1992. The objective of the treaty is to "stabilize greenhouse gas concentrations in the atmosphere at a level that would prevent dangerous anthropogenic interference with the climate system". Successive initiatives such as the Kyoto Protocol, Bali Accord, etc. are administered by the UNFCCC
Coalition for Environmentally Responsible Economics (CERES)A network of investors, companies and public interest groups that aims to accelerate and expand the adoption of sustainable business practices and solutions to build a healthy global economy
Greenhouse Gas ProtocolThe most widely used international accounting tool for government and business leaders to understand, quantify, and manage greenhouse gas emissions. Administered by the WRI and WBCDS
International Energy Agency (IEA)An autonomous organisation which works to ensure reliable, affordable and clean energy for its 29 member countries and beyond. Among other initiatives it tracks government policies relating to carbon abatement
UN IPCCThe United Nations Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change - official site including access to assessment reports
World Business Council for Sustainable DevelopmentAn industry body represented at CEO level by 200+ global corporations
World Resources InstituteA not for profit research organisation promoting ideas and action to sustain the planet's natural resources
Global Reporting Initiative (GRI)Provides standards for sustainability and triple bottom line reporting standards.​
Task Force for Climate-related Financial Disclosures (TCFD) A global initiative of the Climate Disclosure Standards Board, Sustainability Accounting Standards Board and Financial Stability Board, TCFD provides a framework to ensure consistent, comparable and useful disclosures.
