David McEwen, Director
Spanning sustainability, commercial property, technology and risk management, David has had a varied career conceiving and delivering projects for significant corporate and government clients in eight countries. A thought leader and project director with over 25 years’ experience, he is passionate about helping organisations adopt practical and effective strategies to reduce their environmental impact while improving business effectiveness and financial sustainability. Holding a Masters of Business Administration from the Australian Graduate School of Management and winner of the AGSM’s Alumni Association Prize, he has also earned qualifications from the Green Building Council of Australia, National Australian Built Environment Ratings Scheme (and serves on a NABERS Technical Advisory Group), Business Continuity Institute and is a member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors. His previous roles have included Director of Consulting and Head of Occupier Sustainability at Colliers International, a number of Directorships with boutique consultancies and head of IT for a New Zealand government agency. He is the author of Navigating the Adaptive Economy.
Rod Crowder, Director
Specialising in risk management, Rod has had a distinguished management consulting career, spanning over 26 years in a variety of leadership, operational, management, technical, support, project management and consultancy roles. A co-founder and director of Adaptive Capability, Rod also owns and runs a boutique management consultancy specialising in operational risk management, business continuity, crisis management and IT Disaster Recovery Planning. He has overseen more than 340 individual client consultancy projects for over 130 clients, across Corporate, Enterprise, Local, State and Federal Government within Australia New Zealand, Hong Kong, Singapore, Japan, USA and Europe. He holds a Higher National Diploma in Computer Studies from Brighton University in the UK, represents the Disaster Recovery Institute International (DRII) in Australia and New Zealand and also is a Certified DRII Instructor, regularly facilitating training courses and presenting at industry seminars and conferences.
Tony Holley, Principal
Tony is a pragmatic and commercial minded executive with 30 years experience in consulting, investment analysis and corporate advisory. He has previously appeared as an Investment expert on the Sky Business Report, Sunrise and the ABC. He holds an MBA in International Business from the University of Queensland and has substantial expertise in feasibility and cost benefit analysis. Projects worked on range from large scale solar feasibility to weir augmentation cost benefit analysis, to large scale IT projects. While in a regional consulting role at Cisco, Tony led the business case and feasibility work on a number of grid, energy saving and network projects including smart and connected home and demand response.
Dr Paige Carlyle, Director
An expert in business value creation and enterprise performance measurement with over 25 years’ experience, Paige leads Adaptive Capability’s strategic and transformational consulting services. Previously he founded, grew and sold a successful call centre consulting firm and has also assisted a number of entrepreneurs establish and build successful SMBs. Paige’s international strategic consulting experience covers a wide variety of fields including telecommunications, government, manufacturing, service, utility, banking & finance, health, building, pharmaceutical, recreation and IT. His doctorate is in the design, implementation and use of performance measurement systems. He also has a Masters in international marketing from University of Technology, Sydney.
Annie Bao, Analyst
Annie’s passion is in helping organisations to pursue strategic as well as tactical cost improvements to ensure a sustainable advantage. She has worked extensively on the data analysis for the Adaptive CMM diagnostic model and Risk Management frameworks. With a background in Finance and Project Management, Annie was previously employed by Downer Rail for over 6 years. She worked extensively on large state-government infrastructure projects, where Governance and Compliance were some of key focuses, as well as project planning and cost management. She holds a Bachelor’s degree and is a Certified Practicing Accountant.
